My bus is the final stages at the body shop (wahoo!)
We are not sure how the rear bumper mounts on the sides thou.
My understanding is the splash pans mount to the top of the rear bumper bracket and to the side mounts of the bumper.. check
but how does the splash pan mount to the body and whats the relevance of the spreader plate which was provided in the fitting kit.
Does anyone have a picture of how these bolt to the body? |

There should be a hole in the body undernerath the battery tray that has a hole big enough to run a M8 bolt through to the nut tack on to the splash pan itself.
There is another m8 bolt that goes through the lower outer edge of the splash pan and threads into the bumper. |

I found this picture when searching which shows the hole you are talking about on the underside (this picture is from a bay, I assume it should be the same on the split?)
I also saw this pic from the same bay, my split doesn't have the little bulges on the side that this looks to bolt through?
In summary is each splash pan bolted to the rear corner in two places per pan?.. ie underneath and on the side? |

These are the spreader plates supplied with the splash pan fitting kit, what's there relevance?

Yes, split corners are smooth. The small rectangular plates are reinforcements that run on the inside of the rear corners.
So there is the bolt that runs through the body of the bus and a bolt that runs through the pan and into the bumper. Both are M8. The smaller M6 bolts attach the splash pan to the bumper bracket and the lower edge of the reinforcement peice to the lower edge of the rear corners. |

Ah found this pic
So the spreader plates fit on the inside of the rear corners to strengthen the hold. There were also some rubber grommets in the fitting pack would these be for fitting between the splash pan and the corner to protect the paint?
Problem I have is I replaced both corners and have no bolt holes.. even worst we chucked the old corners
So is it possible that someone very kind can give me some measurements of where the holes where in relation to the back arch? |
