Holy cow what a lot of info....thanks a lot! This forum is already impressing me with the dedication, as did the TDI forums. Seems VW's are worth the loving :) |

Being from LA there I would suggest first looking into the smog regulations for diesel vehicles, especially converted ones. There might be ways around it if you started with and 82/82 NA diesel Vanagon as your donor. I have one if you're interested. |

I am in the military, so i have the ability to register the vehicle out of state (fortunately). However, I believe certain classes of diesel vehicles are exempt. I'll look into it.

I'll take a few days leave and undergo the hardship of going to BC to pick up that diesel van... in the winter... with my pow skis!
Gimmie a break about my 2.1 wbx! It's puting out 74 bhp in Albuquerque and about 59 bhp over Ophir pass (11789 ft).
Also x2 all the quantities b/c if we're going to do one swap in my garage, we're going to do two! |

As much as I would love to rag on how lame you look standing in your van on your profile pic, i wont :P
I'm sure it would be REALLLL hard to get you to travel for skiing and van driving.....LOL
Seriously? U need the engine, i've already got one.....and i case you forgot....I sold my 1Z about a year and a half ago :P. |
