The Bug Me video shows the use of a flywheel lock. JBugs shows two on their website but the description and images look the same.

Is there any difference between them? Which is appropriate for a '62 40 hp? |

I bought the Schley 80350 flywheel lock. Nice quality, but more expensive than the ones sold by JBugs. |

I've bolted an angle iron to the flywheel, the ground keeps it from turning. I've also wedged-in the stock VW lug wrench tool between the heat exchanger mount and the flywheel teeth to hold the flywheel from turning. |

I'm not sure what 2 tools ypu saw on the web site. I only found one.
The universal flywheel lock tool fits all VW engines. Use one side to engage the flywheel teeth for 12 volt flywheels and the other side to engage the teeth for 6 volt flywheels. |

Wow! That's a bargain! I wish I would have known about that a month ago when I R2 my rear main seal on my bay double cab. I had to get creative. I basically used half of a pipe and pry bar, it actually worked rather well, it didn't slip on removal or torquing it. I'll be ordering one, you never know when you'll need one. |

Do a search on their site for "flywheel lock" and you get a page that shows three items, two flywheel locks and sumpin' else (don't know what it is!). The two flywheel locks have identical pics and descriptions but have two different prices. Hmmm.
I just ordered the cheaper one. A dollar saved is a dollar saved. |
