Usually from doner vans. I don't know that I've seen front repair panels, only side.

I'm also in need of donor metal for some rust repair on my nose. I've got feelers out locally for a donor van, and if that doesn't work, I know of at least one old Vanagon going to rot in a field that would make an excellent donor van.
I have seen some folks on varies VW classified threads offer whole noses for sale, usually for local pick up only. Source out an old donor van or use this guy:
