Ken your wheel choice was a good one! I checked out your rides a few times all weekend! I'll have to send you an email before the french guy does next year!

Had a few pictures kicking around on my computer and thought I would share them rather than hoarding them.

Trip was great and will be a memorable one for sure. Ken will fill in all the details when he gets a chance.

Thanks to everyone for all their help and hospitality, much appreciated.

Enjoy.

One of the many "minor adjustments" that we experienced along the way.

Niels doing his magic with the help of the rental vehicle (Thanks AirMighty).

The bus looks amazing Ken. 8)

I was just wondering where you got your battery cover strap, or did you make it?

Actually where did you get the ground strap too?...

Cheers.

I don't know if Ken used this but you can make a Barndoor battery cover strap from a later Bus gas tank strap.

They look the same except for length.

Wolfsburg West, and probably other places, sells those copper-colored cables:

Obviously the length may not be "correct" for a Barndoor.

Correct on both accounts. The ground strap is just the normal WW type 1 version, and it is just long enough.

Thanks for posting the pics up Burt! Great trip, super tiring but fun. I think I'll skip 2013 though.

I have lots of pictures of you modeling in the photoshoots if you want? (Sorry gals, the swimsuit edition pictures are for another mag. )

Ken, I'm sure that Burt has heard "I'm never doing that again" from you enough times that he's completely immune to it.

Damn....and I think many of us were hoping 2013 would be the year of the '53 24g.

Ken is probably looking for a '50 Standard Sunroof for his next project...

He's a machine....

Or, maybe he could work some of his magic on one of his BD SC's.

OCTO was a great event and the busses were amazing. I had a great time!

Its still hard for me to think of this as a Columbian bus...the restoration is so dramatic.

It was great meeting you guys, very friendly chaps.
Your buses are super cool and IMO were the best at the OCTO, just amazing.
Enjoy driving them mate.

So jealous! :)

On a related note, do you have any internships/apprentice ships open at Concept1? I think it would be fun to learn to build a bus from the master!

Dasdubber Tue Jun 26, 2012 12:21 am

Congratulations on a great result (and commendable trip) Ken - was fantastic to meet you and your mates in person. The bus was amazing. Thanks again for getting those nose cones out.
Cheers

How did the new motor make out? I heard rumblings of some stuff in the oil when you guys changed it in California.
