i have a dual battery system in my 74 westy and the way it's set up is a little weird...

theres a box under my back seat that says "charges and protects dual battery systems" and has two terminals- one for car and one for rv batteries. the car battery(beside the engine) is hooked up right, but the rv side has to connections to it- on to the rv battery(+) and one directly to a switch by the sliding door that turns my fridge on and off.

the fridge i have is an aftermarket one (in a shabby cabinet glued and nailed together from an original cabinet to fit the fridge) and it has a 12v box and a standard 120v plug that goes to a box in the metal panel behind the front seat. one wire comes from that box and goes directly to the breaker on the left and out to the plug for a 120v hookup.

This couldn't be normal. my sink and everything is all hooked up to the primary battery and it looks as if thats original.

the only thing my second battery is hooked to is the primary battery and the fridge.

did 1974 models evan have dual battery systems?

if you need pics to understand this (i don't blame you if you do :) ) let me know

thanks!
