I've been looking at seats and wondering if the ones with the suspension cords in them are worth it.
I've got some lower back issues (I know what the hell am I doing with a baja) and I'm wondering if they would help.
usually I do better off with reclining seats, leaning back takes pressure off my discs. I have 80s or 90s camaro seats in there right now, and they are pretty comfortable for me, but they don't have much lateral support.
Most of the off road seats arent recliners, so I figure I could just do the "ghetto lean" with them and mount them tilted back a little.
any other recommendations for seats for someone with lower disc problems?

suspension seats are purope designed for offroad abuse to help absorb some of the impact.. net acts as a trampoline of sorts so u have to make sure u have room under the seat for it to flex down on impacts

they are quite comfortable i had PRP seats in my old baja and loved them

I have suspension seats in my rail and love them. The seats are way more comfortable then my Jeep Cherokee seats.

I cant believe I actually almost didn't get them. :shock:

i was going to put suspension seats in my cherokee but the interior is to clean lol unless i find reallly nice looking ones

not totally true. sure, when they're brand new they look like that picture. but when they're in and you're sitting in them, they're actually quite nice. had them in a toyota prerunner and now have a set in my baja.

Got a set of PRP "Roadsters" in my buggy, really love them.... Also remove wallet from rear pocket.... Makes lot of difference on long trips (no sore hips) ....

I have a set of Corbeaus, and love them. As long as I remember to put my wallet in the glove box, they fit great.

I bought a set of the race trim seats new for my Baja. I guess I just have wide hips. Not fat, 202 at 6'2". They were very unconfortable for me to sit in. It felt like I was sitting on each side hip bone and not down in the middle. I tried them many times in the living room watching TV and the not being able to recline any at all was also tiring. The angle was not good for my old back either. (not looking for a full recyliner, just to be able to change the seat angle a little) About 20 minutes and I was done sitting in them.

I sold them still new in plastic at a swap meet this spring. I will up the $ and look at the Procar seats that recline for my Baja.

thanks Joe, this is DEFINITELY useful info. between the lack of recline and the narrow seat I'd probably be miserable, I AM fat :P

Here are my seats. i find them super comfortable. i drove 70 or 80 miles straight in them without much problem. my back never got sore. my outer thighs did right towards the end of trip, as im on the bigger side. 6-4 320. great seats. Definitely do not drive in them with your wallet in the back pocket. put it either in your front pockets, or wherever else that you can.

this is the only problem that i have with them, is that when you use them on the daily, the cheap leather trim and cheap stiching wears out as shown..

I run corbeau seats. and make sure you get the wide ones, unless you weigh 100lbs and have no A$$ :lol: :lol: :lol:

Most of the "wide" seats fit in any rail, but most do not fit well (if at all) in a Baja. The race trim wide seats do not fit in a Baja.

It is widely said that keeping your wallet in your back pocket is bad for you... I got one of these and love it. It has also severely cut back on the crap I carry in my wallet...

yeah, supposed to put your spine out of alignment from sitting with one side slightly higher than the other. I carry mine in my front pocket now.

Phil, what brand and model are those seats?

Suspension seats area lot better than the poly or fiberglass ones for sure.On my buggy i used the race trims for the front.The comfort is fine but material like said aint the greatest.The stitching on mine is coming apart on the bottom side.

I plan to replace with PRP or Beards next time around.I have a PRP rear bench and its in great shape

Poomwah, off hand i cannot remember what they are exactly. they came with the car when i bought it. i know that they came from my buggy shop, ill ask them next time im down there. thatll be in a few days. i have to get new fron shocks. :cry:

but, for the moment, these are the closest that i can find. i do know that mine are beard knockoffs, so it its a close match.

Try seats out before you buy, they all fit a little differently. I can spend 6 days riding around in Beard ultra pros but have a hard time spending a couple hours in Master Craft 3G's.

BTW, the Cobra hardshell seats are quite possibly the worst seat I have ever sat in. And thats saying something because I have ridden in many race cars over the years.........
