I have been on the fence for quite a while now and after over a year of contemplating, questioning, analyzing and looking at the ceiling all night the 1.8T made the most sense to me. I drove our 1991 Westfalia Syncro onto a car carrier in Tacoma this morning and its heading to Stephans. For the first time in 25 years someone else will be working on one of my vehicles. I thought I would be pretty nervous right about now but I am not. I do not think it could be headed to better or more caring hands.

Yep thats a strange feeling :?
....my 86 syncro tintop is at Stephans for the past week, getting the treatment :D :shock: .....so your 91 will be in good company :D

Amen to that. The last time I entrusted a trucker with my van I had to call the police and report it stolen to get it back. And when I got it he had taken a pry bar to my dash. Never again...

As regards the 1.8t...man that's a sweet engine. I wish I had the dough to ship mine to SAH.

Thank you for that !! It would have been nice to read that AFTER it arrived safely :shock: . Tomorrow won't come soon enough. I will be on the Bering Sea tomorrow with no contact to the world for a week, maybe it will arrive before the plane takes off, hopefully, hopefully.

Bob the driver, (3 car transport carrier) seems like a really nice man. He did call from Oregon today saying a dealer stopped him on his route wanting to buy my Westfalia. When I said its not for sale I was asked how much is that thing worth? He then said that low 1st gear is pretty cool :o 8-[ . I guess I will be holding my breath hopefully it arrives tomorrow as I was told. To make it worse he said he was having trouble finding vehicles to pay for his route.

I am feeling good about the carrier driver super courteous older man. He did pick up my vehicle through a broker. When all goes well I will be happy to post his info.
