Anyone see this ad? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1185031

I am very curious to hear/see feedback on these. My current ISP windshield seal fits like total shit. I hope they are nice.

I saw it, contemplated and then realized that I've got tons of time to wait for someone else to be the "guinea pig"...I bought some cowl drain seals from ISP and they came apart before I got them installed. I waited five months and found some NOS seals that will be used.

Hopefully someone is willing to try them out and post up!

Wow, guess I got one of these then! I had mine replaced at ISP last week and it looks great. Perfect fit to the window and frame. I've only got an iphone for a camera, but I'll post some pictures later.

Seal is still fresh (1 week old), but the rubber has a great look to it and seals perfectly.

I think I'll order some. I have a front without molded corners already, but the price is cheap enough. They've got to be better than the unmolded version.

I am going to need a full set for a square...

i'm ordering my seals next week but it'll be a month or two before they go in the car. and thats being hopeful. i've been waiting for this seal to come out to order up all at once. maybe having new seals will inspire me to get off my ass and get to work on the bodywork so i can USE them new seals hahaha...ken....

Ya, they have had the trim for a long time.

I got this news from Alex a few days ago.

How cool is it! :o

luckystiff Sat Sep 03, 2011 5:54 am

as far as fit and quality i think i read that they have been real world testing them for over a year and the whole wait to release them was to see how the testing went. i think the concern may have been not only the initial fit and finish but getting an idea of how they held up to time also. not a bad idea since even ones that fit well initially seem to shrink and leak/crack/etc within a year in most cases...ken....

vlad01 Sat Sep 03, 2011 6:03 am

i had the impression that it was tested over a few years with prototypes etc...?

I did call ISP and ordered a front/rear set yesterday (already have the popout seals).

I'm surprised there's no pictures of these yet, or a close up in the ad. If someone doesn't get to it before me I'll take some photos next week.

Do these have the thicker Type 3 profile or the smaller Bug profile?

vlad01 Sat Sep 03, 2011 4:47 pm

I am sure its the type 3 profile. It was mentioned in a thread about type 3 window seals ages ago if I recall right.

They have ads up for both profiles.

I'll be ordering a set for my 63 and for my 71 but it will be years before they go on the 63 and a little while before i get around to the 71.

I'll be ordering up the windshield piece. Mine has shrunk up pretty bad over the past year and is pulling away from the body on the corners and now even the top:

Maybe they will give us a discount if we turn our old ones in.
