View original topic: Anyone running a CB EFI kit in their splitty?

Just about ready to order up a Gen4 CB Performance EFI kit and wondering where the best place would be to mount the ECU? It's going in a '59 DC so thinking my options are behind the front seat on the bulkhead, or behind/under the rear seat. Both these locations will require the wire harness to be custom made or lengthened, to reach. Just curious if anyone else has installed one of theses kits in a single ore double cab or is running the ECU up front.

It's in the engine compartment ahead of the engine.

Sorry but I don't have a better picture.

This engine looks fantastic in that bus.

It was a "no budget" build.

How much work to install? DIY?
Was thinking of going that route w my 2332

Lots of sensors, lots of wires and lots of reading.

You need a return fuel line, mount a head temp sensor and I strongly suggest getting the crankfire ignition.

I built the engine but did not install it in the Bus.

Hey Glenn, thanks for the picture and info. Engine looks great.
Yeah a little more complicated install, but nice that it’s pretty much plug and play. The CB kit is $3100, but with crank trigger, extra long harness and AN fittings and lines I’ll probably be into it for around $3600 before tax, shipping and exchange rate.

i am wondering about the position of the lambda sensor in the pic (i use a wideband for monitoring the jetting on my carbed engines). it should be installed neither vertical (it gets too much temperature) or horizontal (carbon or water buildup).... should be about ten degrees up from horizontal. just a thought

You know, a little Berg Linkage, Pulley, and Breather would go nicely with that A1 exhaust and CB EFI.
:D

Yes a pretty motor for sure, Well done, then I thought, no one sees it. I have an A1/2332 and it's great, install the rear metal - close the lid and it is all gone. I used the Vintage Speed Bell Crank linkage.
OK, next time I pull the motor, think I'll go to the Powder coat shop, but Yes, the cost of that EFI is about 4K when finally done and the high fuel pressure scares me-I think I currently have about 2.5 lbs running to the Italians

i liked cutting the rubber seal at the bottom corner, that way you can take the apron out without any dangling rubber seals. So much cleaner and easier.

Anyone have a timing map to share?

Good idea, but have more to worry about when stuffing that Swelled-up "Bubble Top Super case" motor into the engine bay with giant carbs on a HF atv stand.
I will slice it next time. Thx mandraks.
