Kool US Army in Germany base photo.......was this Warner Kaserne in Munich? (outside MP station?)

Diggin that NSU Sport TT in the background, they were stupid fast little cars back in their day!

My dad was stationed in Flint Kaserne, south of Munich, from 1972 til 1977. As a Sargent Major he would have 'had words' with the guy over that haircut.

Hey 6BUG3, thats a cool vintage look to your pictures.

But if you really want that vintage look, you need to pay more attention to the background! Make sure it isn't filled with newer cars, trucks, busses, or things like handicaped parking signs or businesses that weren't around way back when.

It's a cool look and I think with that car you could get some really nice vintage looking photos if you had the right backgrounds.

Ha Ha! I think that was at the height of the Vietnam Conflict. From what I hear they were a lot more casual about things at that point. Even more casual about things like that in Vietnam.

X3... what was the bolt pattern on the Cragars?? Did you use adapters for a smaller four-lug? Those are awesome.

My '56 convertible, photos taken in June 1970 (I still lived in CT then).

The decals on the driver's side vent window are for the Apollo 11 moon landing (which had happened the previous summer) and Georgia Tech, where I was about to start school.

hey Bruce, you need to post those vert photos over in the oval forum. They have a vintage photo thread going on over there and I'm sure they would like to see them as well.

The rears had adapters to 5X4 3/4 Chevy, and the front had wide 5 to 4 lug adapters redrilled to Vega.

That's quite a lot of VWs.
The intake vent trim accessory was popular in that town!

That's me in the 61SNRF, fourth car in line...

This was at a Gimmick Rally held by Der Kleiner Kampfwagens circa 1977.
The other cars were fellow club members of Der Selten Kafers, a Cal-Look club we formed in 1976.

That is a interesting photo because it was taken in the early 60's. The Falcon appears to be near new, the deluxe beetle, a Renault 4CV, a standard or 1200 Custom Canadian beetle ( there were no Cal bug window rubbers then), and a two door 57 Ford Ranch wagon.
