What is an IRS suspension? Where do i get it?
Is it maybe from a 68-bus? |

Yes, '68 bay window buses were the first to have IRS in most countries...certainly in the US and Canada...it also coincided with the first year without reduction gears. IRS means independent rear suspension, so there are two separate drive axles with CV joints on each end (one at the wheel and one at the tranny). Try Bus Boys, Wolfgang International or some other aftermarket suppliers for the kits to convert a split to IRS. |

I'm from Europe, so Bus Boys won't be an option! What needs to be done to convert a split to IRS? |

Andrew,
Thanks again for the reference. The IRS installation instructions are comprised of my personal experiences with the Wolfgang kit. Other kits may differ a little, but it may at least help out with some tips and things to look out for. |
