Hi,

could someone tell me/show me the differences between BD and later mirrows.
The mirrow itself not the arm. I did a forum search about that but didn`t find any more info. On Tonnys site the mirrows are only show small in the mirrow arm detail pic
.
Is there a VW no. stamped in as in the late one`s?

I need some mirrows for my 52 as I don`t want to reuse those plastic square one`s. And some other mod`s the pre owner did...

..you should have round Mirrors like you posted.

I don't know if is true for all Barndoor years but I have been told that the Barndoor mirror is the one with the wider lip around the outside:

It also has no part number on the back but that continues on later Buses as well, I believe through 1958.

I heard that the ball pivot on the barndoor mirrors are larger diameter. (I worded that very carefully to avoid using big balls, and getting quoted on it :lol: ).

I bought one at bad camberg that came off a '53 that I also got date matched big silver headlights, and a bunch of other parts that supposedly came off the same bus. The mirror has no part numbers, and a larger ball.

That bus is Sweet! Very jealous. I would not change a thing. Yes mirror posted is correct,I think.

Thank`s everyone for the good Infos! Didn`t know that Frese even made the mirrows for Barndoors.

The 80`s style BD is now in work to get it showable. That submarine/disco style isn`t my cup of tea...It`s an 52 panel which was deliverd in primer.
