Putting together an AFN setup for a friend's syncro. He has the adaptor plate and flywheel but there are no markings of any kind on them.
Anybody know how much they weigh or have one they can put on a scale?
I will call Kennedy but what is the contact info for who now deals the Tiico?
merci les copains :) |

All Kennedy plates I've seen have a timing hole below the manifold side of the engine, and marks for TDC on the backside of the flywheel.
But - if I were building this, I would never use a Kennedy plate to build a Syncro TDI. Just not as strong as the proper bell housing setup - risk of pulled studs, flexing, cracking. I've seen it before. |

Agreed..not a big fan of the adaptor plate either. I've been pushing hard
for a "proper" ;) setup..
thanks for the Kennedy info. |

Hi folks.
This is for a "Rabbit" Kennedy adaptor kit but is likely the same for all applicable Kennedy flywheels.
Is the #1 TDC mark on the Kennedy flywheel a countersunk hole? Or?
Thanks

Hi,
Kennedy confirmed me their flywheel weight for a 3600 VW inline kit weight is 17 lbs.
I'm now wondering how much this flywheel would improve smoothness on my TDI swap which currently have a light 12 lbs flywheel.
Thanks

diesels are no place for a lightened flywheel |

Danfromsyr,
Thanks!!
Seeking the heaviest flywheel I can use with an adaptor plate. Up to now it seems to be 17 lbs, which is still much lighter than a VW diesel SMF ( 22 lbs).
Would you know any other options?
Thanks
