I'm replacing a suspected bent drum. While I'm at it I figured I would change the wheel bearings too. I bought the "rear wheel bearing kit" from BAP auto parts and you can see what I have in the picture. It looks like that new wheel bearing on the right will go into what I pulled out. I tried prying out the rubber seal and it doesn't want to come out. Some other little seal did. I'm new to VW's and am unsure of what I'm doing. I'm thinking of leaving the inner bearing alone on the car.

The Bentley manual if you have one, is your best friend. Here's a couple links that should also help you out. They are for earlier bugs, but the same should apply.

It's not hard to do, especially if you are replacing the bearings (because you dont have to wory about hurting them). What year is this? |
