alright, i did not know that these suckers stick out beyond the bumper but after seeing photos i now realize that it may not be the way to go for me. I have antique auto insurance on my bus and it is supposed to be stock. no way will that pass as stock. what i want is something muffler/exhaust-wise that looks basically stock but with a little extra HP. And no ground scraping either. any ideas?? |

i have a dynomax muffler on my 63 bus. these are recommended on bigger motors. i found the quiet pack to have too much back pressure and i'm thinking it was running hot. you may want a quiet pack. i'm assuming that you are already running headers. keep in mind, different manufacturers have different flanges. even tho the bolt pattern may ber 1-5-9 o'clock, the angles may be way off. i had to cut the tube, hog out the flange, change the angle by carving off a bit of tube and reweld it. i opted to flip the muffler so the exhaust is on the drivers side. i was able to do the work myself at my buddies garage. it performs better, sounds better and in my opinion looks better than a quiet pack. i'm running a 1914. |
