The owner of that van, VW Jedi, used to be an active member on this forum. It's a really nice van, and I hope he gets what he's looking for out of it. GTIs, Sciroccos, and Corrados have been selling for really impressive dollars on BAT, but every Vanagon and Eurovan I've watched on there has not done particularly well. I hope the auction is a success for him.

This one is still out there and cheap: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-volkswagen-transporter-doka-syncro/

I have no idea what’s involved in bringing one of these to the US from Canada, but I guess I have 2 hours to figure that out.

I want it want it want it. Unfortunately I'd have to sell my 928 to get it, and I'm not ready to part ways with that one just yet.

55 minutes to go. No movement. I'm tempted too, but I need to be an adult here. I have other priorities than an 8th vehicle, haha.

Someone's going to get a great deal.

14k when the gavel dropped

I do like how BAT reopens the biddingon each bid, preventing sniping.

I do believe the term is call 'soft close'. It's becoming a thing now.

It really works well imo. It is fun to watch the last bidders duke it out. Kinda like a game of 'chicken'. The bidding does not get serious until the last 15 minutes...

On the second page it says, "Reserve not met."

"The factory air conditioning was removed from the vehicle prior to the seller’s purchase in 2008."

Weird that the cabinet was removed, but the compressor left in place.🤔

I sold my Vanagon on BaT in 2018. It was a good experience. The new owner calls it Otto and has taken some great trips in it already.
Here was my sale:

This a local Vancouver, BC van and from what I have been told may be the cleanest example of a stock untouched Syncro Westfalia you will ever see.
