Guys,

So, I'm about to go back to an OG dist for my '67. This is currently in the car. Being that it's a Bosch unit, does anyone think it's worth holding on to? It has an electronic ignition installed.

I know everyone hates the 009... Just thought I'd ask.. I've never had a problem with it. It's just incorrect for my '67.

If I sell it, anyone have an idea what it might bring?

Going to the 205K? What carb are you running?

Do a search on the classifieds. Used ones are anywhere from $20-90 on there...

I'm going with this, which I believe is correct for my year.

I'm running an OG Solex German carb. Same that came in the car new. Vintage Werks. Thanks Ed!

So you mean a 30PICT-1 with a base flange number of VW-105 then? That was the OEM carburetor and series number.

That link, yes that does look like a "K" distributor. Don't be surprised when you find that this is also an "009" - just a different 009!

Yes... You guys have the sickness too.. I like it.

205K (VW#) is the correct distributor. Technically its also a 009 but as you can see below it has a different part number.

Distributor: VW # 113-905-205K/L, Bosch # 0231 137 009/010

lol, you beat me with a reply before I could finish me edit above...

Well, little details like that can sometimes make a difference. If you got, for instance, a 30PICT-1 with a base flange number of VW 75-1 or VW 83-1... those were detuned carburetors intended solely for the 1300 engine, and not really suitable for bigger motors.

Does anyone else know who has a source for the correct dist for my '67?

Hey man, beggers can't be choosers! It would make a nice core for a rebuild or may just need some soap and water and be ready to go...

Well, yeah, but I didn't know that when I asked the question...!

And speaking of questions, I don't think we answered yours about what your current unit is worth. I can't tell from the photo if it's German or Brazillian. It looks more like Brazil to me. Really only the German 009s are anything special. Brazil and other clones are dime a dozen. Well, worth more than a dime... but not much to me.

German units, to find the stamp, you have to look underneath. Brazil units are blank here.

Yes, I do want such a picture! I can't recall ever seeing a Brazil one with such a stamp there! Not that they don't exist... I just never seen one. But I seen plenty of blank Bosch ones, and this was in the 90s before China production.
