Hello everyone.
I’m trying to convert my 1974 1303 beetle’s steering from steering box to steering rack. I’ve already fitted the rack, correct (long) post 1975 steering shaft but the problem is that everything is about 2cm short to reach the end of the steering column spline. Is the steering column different (longer) in 1975 model? Please help, can anyone direct me to any source showing the way steering is connected under the fuel tank? Maybe some photos from 1303 cabriolet or 75 model? Maybe someone have tried to do such conversion and succeeded, some advice from experienced VW friend ;-) ?
Can anyone supply lenghts of steering colums rods, as this might be helpfull. All I know for now is that 1971 rod is 56cm long, 1973 is 57cm, how about 1975-on models?
