Is anyone aware of another Ziegler Barndoor with Ambulance door? See the photos posted of a '55 in the Gallery. This one was in service at Kuhnle, Kopp, and Kausch along with a'56 Magirus VW pump and '54 Westfalia utility trailer.

Is that a no?
How about any Barndoor with an ambulance door that is configured as anything other than an ambulance?
What would the option code be for this bus? |

...not 100% sure, but I think there's even a PANEL with the ambulance back-door, and a Behr-scoop installed!! I have to look on Tonny's site to tell you for sure!

found this on barndoor.dk in picture gallery:
chassisnumber 20-101724 is NOT a type 27 (=ambulance) but 23... and I saw it years ago at Bulli Kartei, and the guy told me it was used by the Feuerwehr....
chassisnumber 20-093868 is the PANEL i wrote about, used to be an ambulance as stated...: "Ex. factory ambulance from Boehringer Company. Note it is without side windows, and the rear hatch opens upward, the same way as a standard panel non barndoor. It is removed now, but it has had a Behr ventilator"
...there might be more of these on the list, but don't have time to look at all of them, I have to leave for X-mas eve ;-))

G,
Thanks for the post. I found it: ch.number 20-110800 23A. Not sure the vintage of the picture. Sometime between '87 when KK&K retired it and '99 when the owner acquired it. |
