Hey guys, I've always liked seeing those photos of people pulling busses right as they've been found, like sitting in a barn or behind a tree, out in a field, etc. I'm not sure if some one else has already done this in the bay window section, but i'll give it a try. Here are some of my busses I've bought-
1976 deluxe westy straight from the barn-found, restored, sold
1978 Champagne from a back yard-found, restored, sold
Newest find, 1974 deluxe Westy-found, needs restored

Here are a couple of my recent acquisitions, within the past 4 months, at the locations I got them.
78 Hardtop Sunroof Deluxe Automatic.
69 Sundial with Adventurewagen top. That is me and my wife on the left, the caretaker of the property on the right, and a friend of the owner on the far right.
78 Westy & 67 bus I got in a trade for a Ford Exploder.
I also will be picking up a 64 panel, but I cannot get the photos off of my cell phone. |

Sat in a field in Montana next to a barn for a few years before I bought it. Decent shape overall to start. SN# 1121... very early in the '72 year production. CB #76 stamped on the pancake! An old, tired dawg. The best kind. 8)
Out and about more now after two years of love and some spare change. Will be fully restored by end of summer 2012 I hope... just in time to disappear into the mountains when the apocalypse hits.

Found him in a scrapyard. Sitting up on blocks for people to pull parts off of him.
Scrapyard man taking it off the blocks so we can load it on the tow truck.
Ready to go home.
After a lot of tlc! :D
I'm currently driving it and working on it at the same time. I work on it a couple days then drive it a couple days! :D That way I don't get bummed that I can't drive it and also don't get burnt out on just doing nothing but working on it! :D |

Cool thread.
Here's where we found her, under a tree. She had been sitting for 5 years. Took this photo right after we shook hands with PO.
And here she is after we pulled her out, loaded her up. Ready to go home.

Found these busses while camping/fishing in Northern Ontario in Temagami at the Matabichuan Lodge (actually, very rustic fishing cabins). They are quite a ways back in the bush were well used/abused work trucks.
p.s.
I have no desire what-so-ever to save these guys. Too far gone and too far away. I did not even take a souvenir. It would have felt like taking a dead guys lighter. |

It would probably be best to just let them rust in peace!
Sad though :( |
