View original topic: Looking for help restoring a Fastback -- willing to PAY for help

I recently bought a 1973 Fastback. It has several mechanical issues, mostly minor, and some rust that needs to be dealt with, but it runs. Overall, I have a pretty good idea of what needs to be fixed. I'd like to do as much of the repair work myself as possible -- not just to save money but because I want to learn how to do it. I have access to a garage I can rent by the hour, but cannot leave the car there overnight. So, I was hoping that there's an experienced VW enthusiast in Ventura County that is looking to make some extra money by walking me through some of the repairs.

As I mentioned in another thread, one of the things I'd also like to have done is have new floor pans put in the car. I'm OK with letting someone else cut out the old pans and weld in the new ones. So, I'd be happy just getting help prepping the car to be split (removing engine, disconnecting steering box, fuel lines, electrical, etc).

If anyone is interested, please let me know.

There are a few clubs in the area; someone in one may be able to help you. They may be busy rebuilding their house, though... Ventura was hit pretty hard by the fires. Unbelievable destruction.
