View original topic: 78 Rabbit, unable to start

I'm working on a 78 gas fuel injected Rabbit that was sitting for several years. I replaced the points, condenser, wires, etc. I am getting a good spark. It briefly starts if I pour gas directly in the large air hose so it can start. I replaced the fuel pump, the fuel pump relay & the fuel filter. The old relay was very corroded. I do not hear the pump running at all when the starter is cranking regularly. But if I connect across the fuel pump relay the fuel pump does run. Even after I let the fuel pump run several seconds & try to start I still get nothing; I would think there should be at least enough gas in it to get it to briefly start. What am I overlooking?
thanks

CIS injection needs 60psi to run, keep the relay jumped, and then try to start.

Yes thank you. That did work. Runs like hell but it does run. So when I put the relay back in it won't start at all. Is there another fuse in there somewhere? Any common problem here? The relay socket is the extension on top of the fuses rather than in the original location.
