Thanks for all the positive feedback. I am considering wleding the corners back on and have plans to finish things out so it looks more factory than a piggy back ride.
I sure am having fun with it. I bought the green doors and the b pillar from a local junkyard for $400 bucks. I didn't original plan on making it a Double Door. I was bench racing under the influence of alchohal when that idea flashed into my brain. That is how the front doors got stretched too. Originally I was going to make a six inch wide b-pillar. I love the stretched front doors. The seat position is cool too. I am 5'6". I look right through the middle of the windshield. In a stock Splitty I almost have to duck to see out the windshield.
Tonight I am going to work on the floor in the back. I will keep some updates going.

I am following this from over on the Vanagon Forum too.
I have a friend with a Pinzgauer & have forwarded the thread on to him.
What is your plan for the former VW logo location? Spotlight?

Looks Cool!!!
Would have made the rear side back window stock size, so you could of put the original glass back in as it looks a little funny with the front door windows being so big and that being so small...otherwise keep it up could be a nice ride...:) |

Very cool. I had a few Pinz at one time. We used to joke how they were 4x4 VWs.
Looks great.
Is this Mike ?

That's awesome, man! A buddy of mine introduced me to Pinzgauers and they're pretty killer. Seeing a bus body on one...that's too cool!
Can't wait to see more pix! |

Hey guys,
So after a summer hiatus, The Splitzgauer is back in the shop. We have been working on it for a few weeks. Things are coming along. I will try and gather some more pictures but here are a few. There is very little Pinzgauer body left. Mostly just Chassis stuff. Here are a few photos of the center floor area

x2 I would like to see you use the split bus corners and tail lights

I once thought about doing something similar: my plan was to put a T3 syncro drivetrain in my T1. Luckily I came to my senses ;-)
But I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with that beast. Pinzgauers are very capable vehicles. A bit noisy though...

No photoshop there polak, that's somebody's hard work, skill and innovation. Like they used their hands and skills to actually build what they had in their head.
You ever build sumpthin' polak? |
