Hi,
I'm usually on the fat chick side of the forums but today i think I can start posting and asking here.

I bought a 1965. And I'm a nervous wreck waiting for it.

Here it is:

It's bone stock, Bahama Blue, 1200 6v, with radio delete.

It is a gift to my Mother. The first car she bought BRAND new was a 65 just like this. My Dad ( her boyfriend at the time ) drove it to the store on day, parked it, and it was soon destroyed by a truck that rear ended it as he watched from nearby.

So, now that I can, I will give her her car back while she still can drive.

Beautiful car and it's really neat of you that you're doing this. Keep us posted and we need a picture of her face when she sees it for the first time!! :lol:

Terrific gift! Where is it coming from? I hope you post pictures when you give this wonderful car to your mother. Nice find!!

It is coming from Sacramento. I hunted on here for a while and met some very nice people with good cars and each a fine example.

I've always wanted to do this, but more so now. You see, just recently, my Mom was diagnosed with Cancer. She is in good spirits and still going at 85 MPH :)

Sadly, it is not fixable. Yet we have hope. She has hope.

She gets around, drives, and insist on needing no help with anything (she raised three kids on her own----my Father passed away early)

So, why not give some happiness? It's only money.

My Mother does not know though I've hinted to other members of my family to gauge a response. They all thought it would be a waste of money and time but, meh, why the hell not? So, I kept quiet. Even my Girlfriend, who lives with me, doesn't know. Though, I've told her the story of the destroyed beetle.

Like you said, it's only money. I lost my mother and if I could go back and do something that will make her happy for even a short time I would.

Bogey All I can say to you is Wow...what a good son you are.

Now on a lighter note...why didn't I see this car here in Sacramento????? Wait...is this coming from Natomas? Cause if so I saw a guy driving one VERY similar.

What an AMAZING thing to do! I am all for it. If it means having her happy and in a good place, it is worth every dime! My heart goes out to you, but look up to you as an inspiration. Keep us posted!

It was of 80 and Arden if that helps.

What a cool thing to do! Forget the rest of the familys opinion! Like others here have said, if you can do something to make her happy and she's keeping a good spirit then let her enjoy it! Spend as much time with her as you can!

Can't wait to see more pictures! Hope you get a good one of her expression when she first sees it!
