****DISCLAIMER****I have never done any type of weldeing before. I want to weld body panels, heater channels. and floor pans. We have 72 Beetle and 72 SB Vert. How do I know what type of MIG welder to get? There are gas and electric. I have seen prices from $100-$5000+. I know you get what you pay for, but I dont want to spend more than is necessary. Thanks in advance. |

Now that Everett has combined the old forums , the search works
BAD ASS! just type in "mig welders" in the "quick search" box above ( I just did ) and see the hits you get, there are some good threads on this right at your fingertips...
I will be giving you some addtional info /tips about what you need to do in the e-mail.... |

Get gas hookup. Especially for beginners, flux core is hard to get right. Argon/CO2 gas hook up is a night and day difference, worth the etra $$ and makes the beads 10x better. |

sup nick, I agree, but if you get good enough you don't need the gas.
my welds look nice without a gas bottle, and once in awhile I need to grind some of them down, but not too often |
