I'm hoping that someone can help with some guidance. I took a bug in trade last July and for the most part, it's in fantastic shape. However, it developed a leak from what appears to be the rear main seal.

I need to find someone who can look at it in a location that is not far from my hobby shop (harry hines blvd) or my house in Carrollton TX.

My preference is to find someone who can do house calls (I have a 2 post lift and shop air) but I should be able to make short trips.

I'd be grateful for recommendations.

In my opinion, the very best in all of Dallas/Ft. Worth is Brad Fenn who's business is called Classic Auto Service and works out of his house right near White Rock Lake.

Thanks guys, my issues are resolved but I thought I would share the story. I put an ad in the CL looking for someone to come and take a look. I couldn't move the car because of the oil leak and my truck was stolen so could not tow it.

In any case, a couple of guys responded but flaked out. Then a young kid contacted me. I did not know his age until i met him. He's in high school but has been tinkering with bugs for a couple of years and has the good initiative to turn it into something that he makes money out of.

He pulled the engine and replaced the seal, fixed an electrical short, adjusted the clutch and the brakes and he did a fantastic job. He's in South Dallas and worked from the back of his house he has a number of beetle parts cars.

I am about to get a new Beetle from my dad and am looking for a good mechanic in the Dallas area. Do you think you could PM me his contact details sir?
