I'm looking at a '67 and wonder about two toning it. Is it correct for that car? |

2-tone was never a VW option. So it's never "correct" for a car, it just looks good. |

Incorrect. I've seen VW factory pics of two tone cars on the line and Hebs had two tone. |

VW Dealer option for Two tone on beetles sounds about right.
Buses, single cabs and doubles came two tone from factory if wanted.
Even ghias had the option for a two tone from factory |

I'm not too sure about the two tone bugs but Heb's are a coachbuilt and are different than a car from the VW factory.
If you have a bus, a standard micro, deluxe would be your only two toned option: though I have heard of trucks being painted that way, but I have never seen the literature myself".
Personally I could live with out the 2 tone paint on bugs especially the big window bugs but I do like the sealingwax red / black combo on an early bug. |
