I've tried the search feature looking for answers on motor mounts and now I'm confused. It seems like most people hate the urethane ones but then I read from others that the Rhino HD urethane motor mounts are the best. I'm assuming that there are multiple urethane versions. Is it safe to assume that plain 'ol rubber ones in a 1641cc application are gonna be plenty good? If not, should I drop the $60 on the Rhino mounts?
Second question, and I apologize if I'm opening up a can of worms concerning personal preference, etc., but I'm considering replacing my firewall purely due to aesthetics (mine's kinda ugly) and I've seen some of the black metal and chrome (both louvered and flat) versions in the "Show me your engines" thread. I really like the way they look but are there any drawbacks that I need to be aware of before spending money on something that is unnecessary? Do they increase heat, rattle annoyingly, hard to keep clean, etc? I'm personally leaning towards the black steel version since I'm not much for chrome but I don't want to do anything that will raise noise levels or trap heat. |
