Part them out and buy an aircooled car?

AirDirect Wed May 16, 2012 10:28 pm

They are air cooled, it just happens to use liquid as a transfer medium. :D

Has anyone finished one of these conversions? TD Beetle would be a real performer and should get excellent fuel economy.

That's mine and it is nearly done, I'm in the process of moving but should have it finished sometime in the next month or 2. My motor is a 1.9, his are probably 1.6 but very similar.

Do you have a link documenting how you did it? I would love to know more.

Sailor Jerry Wed May 23, 2012 11:19 pm

No links, if you have any questions you can send me a pm and I'll try to answer them

Nice work. Seems like an awful lot of work for some Jettas...

But then, back in the late 80's my buddy's dad told us we were 'tarded for dragging home a different Ford Falcon every weekend. The Jettas are 25 years old, just like the cars we were tearing into back then.

Carry on...
