Hi All,
I've got my Klassic Fab cargo floor the other day. When I unpacked I was a little surprised as there was no seat mounts for the middle seat included.
So I have some questions for you:
1) The mounts marked A is for the rear seat. But what are the recessions in front of them for?
2) The recesses marked B is for the wide middle seat. Right? And the brackets is the same that goes on A?
3) There is a plate missing at C, right? Can you buy this reproduced?
Thanks for any input,
Jörgen Forssling

I guess that is a '67 floor, due to the holes for the seat belt mounts?
Here's a shot of an original '67 floor:
For A. - the other impressions are for earlier Buses that have 4 mounts.
Mid-63 up only have 2 for the rear seat. |

It is supposed to be a 66 floor. I'll have to check with my supplier. Is the 66 floor the same? What kind of seat mount brackets goes on a 66 floor?
Thanks for your input!

I'm sure Gerson still sells them.
I picked mine up about 2 years ago from him

Is your bus a 66 or 67?
Thanks,

The seat mounts you need will be the plates shown in the photo posted by Gmiee5. You will need to determine what middle seat you have--full width or 2/3rds. If you have a full seat, you will need all four plates. If you have a 2/3rds seat, you need three plates, leaving out the one closest to the cargo doors.
The only difference between a 66/earlier floor and the 67 shown (with regard to anchor plates) is the 67 has all four plates installed regardless of the seat ordered with the bus.
Use the photo posted by Everett to orient the plates correctly. The round holes in the plates are toward the center line of the cargo floor. |

Thanks!
My bus is a full width middle seat. I'm not too concerned about originality. But from what I could see, I did not have the big plates. I rescued at least three of the mounts. Two at the most rear and one for the middle seat.
Gerson has sent me a PM that he will ship me the hardware. That is a stand up guy!
Just for the nerds I post some pics of my old rotten floor. Please tell me what you think regarding the mounts. Can it be that mine is an early 66? (mid august production)
Thanks all!
Jörgen

Hi All!
I got my seat mount plates from Gerson yesterday.
How were they fastened originally? Spot welds?
Thanks for any input,
Jörgen |

I was told these were seat mounts for my middle seat? Then again my order got a little messed up and I have not been able to get a response from anyone at Klassic Fab over what these pieces are.

Are the earlier buses got the same mounts dents in the floor? I have a 61 and its got new floor sections with no mount locations. |

Yes.
A '61 does not have the big plate like you see in this thread, just the small individual plates for the T-bolts that hold the middle seat. |

Well I'll be darned. Those look like the pics of the pieces I posted above. Thanks for posting. After many attempts to contact Klassic Fab I never got any kind of response to multiple emails to multiple email addresses, and phone #'s.
Still would need to see how they function, but nice to at least seem there where they go. |

Has anyone run into this problem?
The right mounting location for the short middle seat is 4" right of where it should be.
This should measure 42".
WTF GERSON???

What year is your short middle seat? Up to '66 and '67 are different. |

I had my floor replaced in my '67 ( not classic Fab) and the mounting locations were wrong for my 2/3 middle seat. I had to flatten the areas in the correct locations and weld in the mounting plates.
The die made to hammer on.
A look after hammering done.
Plates set in place
Painted, done.
Not a factory correct thing, but it will hold my seat in place. Yes I know...wavy floor, again not funky green...get what you pay for.
Gordo. |
