I wouldn’t stand on it and bounce for sure. They flex in a way that makes me nervous. Like there’s a limit. If it’s a daily driver, these are great. For something restored and straight, then it would stress me out thinking about bending the bumper bracket.

I had them mounted before I added about 150 HP and lowered the bus(it's a different Bus today)
The pads sit very close to the Bumper, not a whole lot of leverage is achieved, but think how sturdy a bumper is when mounted right. I would use some good bolts & tight.
They were good for front roof stuff instead of turning the bumper into a stool, but here again, you could just open the door without them. Tie downs were easy to use and pull. I would think the rubber padded one's vs the Empi metal would be a lot easier on the shin and you won't slip off !. My wife used them all the time to get in the Bus (5'2"). I have seen the ultimate "OPTION" once, the retractable type that pushes out when you open the door, then hides itself when closed(all mechanical), but that is a lot of parts you probably would not find today, but by far much more unique than even my Belly Pan Ambulance step>Code 530 on a 64 21 window. The first one is for Belly PansThey did scrape the inside of the bumper too, so watch for rust if you use them.

I have an NOS belly pan step that I was going to install on my '57, but I chickened out (like I did with the gas heater).
