Are the case breather boxes for the carburated engine just a fancy flow-through box? Like, how do you know if one is good or bad?

pretty sure the carbed breathers are just a baffle, all metal inside.

Mine is exactly as pictured. Nothing in it to fail. Just a box with a large hose nipple, to which (on standard unmolested fuel systems) is connected back to the air cleaner.

In my twin weber setup, the nipple is connected to a hose that's road-drafted. Mine is special in that it serves as the only way for me to get engine oil into the engine! :D
