Thanks guys. Those sealing washers are interesting. Wonder if they came onto the scene because of poor quality parts these days. I'm sure there are millions of AN connections without them. Also not knowing how to assemble and tighten fittings. The big name manufacturers have good product and explicit instructions on how to tighten them. Maybe it's like the Bentley- screw the instructions and just slop it.
Matt- On your links for the fittings there is a # to call for help.
That type of fitting is only going to work with the correct dimensioned hose. Additionally, that design is inferior to the old proven designs. But it's purdy
EDIT- OK, I see now. The Seco seals are intended for use with 37 degree flared tubing. Unless you have the super tooling it's a real art to do a wonderful flawless tube flare. For our use without any tubing involved the seals should never be needed. |

Could the issue be that I used "push lock" style hose with AN fitting designed with a compression collar?
What has happened is the end of the hose has been compressed enough that it is now too small for the collar and fits loosly on the internal nipple.
I can wiggle the end of the hose at the fitting...not good.
Funny, because the hose is a very tight fit during assembly.
Anybody got a link for the correct hose to use with my Earl style fittings?

The Aeroquip I see is push lock. |

"Works With All Braided Or Nylon Braided Line" That's what they say. But it's commonly used with the stainless steel braided line.
"IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL CONCERNING APPLICATION, SHIPPING, OR ANYTHING ELSE PLEASE CALL US AT 804-427-8962"
So what did they say? |
