Does anyone sell new grey cardboard door panels for my 1957 single cab pickup? wolfsburg does not,but mentioned someone named Claire in wasington that might .I don't want the abs panels the I see advertised.

I made my own from 1/8" hardboard, sealed the backside and just used primer on the front side, look nice and cost me about $10, got stainless screws and beauty washers from my work for free. Took maybe a couple of hours at most, worth trying if you have the time, i used a really beat old one as a template and adjusted where needed. Clara's are nice an well worth the money though.

Here's a couple crappy cell pics, hope they work for ya. These are in my standard so obviously not correct but better then not having any at all :D plus if I scrape em up as I did on the cargo door it's ok. I drive mine in all weather and I do need to replace my door window seals as they leak a little, so far there holding up just fine to water and moisture.

I got the hardboard at my work but you should be able to find it at Home Depot or the like. The 1/8" Masonite ( i believe thats what it is ) kind is what I would recommend and seal the back side of them.

Edit- also I used an automotive primer from a gun, not a rattle can although I'm sure it would work just the same.

I used steel grey porch enamel, and just mixed in a little black until it matched an OG panel. Be sure to seal the backs well, as water drains through the doors.

I made my own out of Masonite back in 05. All you need is a pattern and a person willing to trace theirs for a template. :wink: Come to think of it, I made the panels in my 64 as well back in 02.

I am about to install a Wolfsburg West grey interior panel set that I bought about 8 years ago into my '59 Double-Cab once it is back from the paint shop. I am going to coat the backsides with a water sealant, and use plastic sheeting between the door panels and the door on the front cab doors.

I've heard great things about Clara's panels, and since WW seems to be out of the panel business, that is the way I'd go!

Made these a few years ago-

Had a piece of an original panel matched for paint at Home Depot and it was PERFECT!
Don't be afraid to do it yourself!

Bill, those suck, no matter what you coat them with they'll warp. Don't bother.

Hahaha. I was going to say that but didn't want to be first. Agree totally. They do keep their grayness albeit sometimes just a thin piece of film clinging to the fastener.
