Anyone interested in a campout at Dillon Beach in NorCal in October?

I don't want to wait for the SBC one in March but would like to keep the same kind of vibe. Meaning, a family welcome kind of event minus attitude and idiots.

Any takers?

what dates do you have in mind?

18-19 or maybe 25-26. I think there are shows earlier in the month. Dillon Beach also charges $15.00 a night but I am open to other suggestions of places to go.

I am cool with it what about Pfeifer State Park at Big Sur or Mt. Tamalpais State Park? I think the Pfeifer Park is in the same price range, its right on the river.

My only reservation about those places are reservations! I think it might be easier to meet at a place that does not require reservations as that could be a deal breaker to some folks and we would not have to worry about someone being excluded if the campgrounds are full.

I'd be interested, but make sure it's a place that has showers!!! Not that too many people would use them (just kidding) but No showers = No Yustrn

I think the area I'm about to suggest may be considered "Central" CA, but I HIGHLY recommend going to Lucia, south of Big Sur on Highway 1 by maybe an hour. There's a little campground on the water side, no reservations, it has maybe 30 sites, and the accommodations are an outhouse and a phone. It's nondescript from the road except for a small sign so you can easily blow by it without knowing. It's one of the most beautiful campsites I've ever stayed at and can't wait to go back.

Eric,

There is a shower at the beach but it has no walls, it's for surfers. Here is a link for the "campground".

Dillon Beach doesn't rival any real campground but it's plenty big and fairly close, it's about 105 miles from my house. They don't care too much about noise, you can be about 100 yards from the beach and there is plenty of room.

I agree Ms. Priss, that Lucia campground is nice right on the beach there. I also think that somewhere around Monterey or Big Sur area would cool not only for the area but so it could kind of be a middle ground for the people that want to cruise from Socal like myself and we could possible get more busses. Fernwood at Big Sur is nice to and they are able to handle a big group, they have showers too for those who wish for the long shower. I am willing to drive all that way but it would be cool to have a happy medium for cruisers from down here. Every place takes reservations and during the winter months it won't be that busy anyways. Any ideas on those set of dates? later anthony

I found out that the SBC is having a campout on OCT 17-19 at Russian Gulch near Mendicino.

They take reservations and are on the web.

Try starting another thread for Central Coast camping instead of using this one for Northern Ca. You might get a better response.

I live just south of Big Sur, so if anyone is doing a central coast campout, please email me. I think the one campground Ms. Priss is speaking of is called Kirk Creek campground.
