I have access to an old KEP adapter with the rear cross bar running I believe old fox or audi(4000?) mounts. I mocked it up to a 2.0L ABA. All seems to line up except the oil pan. There is no way it will clear a stock ABA oil pan. So what pan do people run?

Do you have a picture? How much interference? Does the ABA have the same pan bolt patern as the rabbit, dasher, audi, quantum block of that era? The inline 4's of that era had a deep sump at the pulley end and a shallow section on the bellhousing end. The transverse engines had more of a bubble shape pan. Sorry I am just not familiar with the ABA pan enough to say beyond that. If there is minimal interference, the pan could be modified.

fox/Audi 4000 mounts are inline and ABA is transverse why would you expect them to line up?
maybe you'll need to get a fox/Audi/passat oilpan & pump pick up.
actually I've never seen nor heard of the cross bar you lightly describe..
so pictures are a must and you may be treading new (old parts) water here.

in all my custom installations I've had to make my own custom mountings.. just part of the territory and what keeps the "kit" engine people away..

just a note that the fox/Audi mounts will mount an engine at 15* (OEM for that engine) which should fit fine in the Doka, but tnot the 82 Diesel

Now that I'm looking at it I'm thinking the fox pan is the way to go. I guees I thought the bar would go near the crank pulley not near the bellhousing. Or mod the bar to clear the pan I suppose. [/img]
