After many long hours of rebuilding the 23 window, I am near final assembly, so thought I put together a build thread and update as I make progress.
After tear down, first up, soda...pretty solid from the underside.
Front and rear beam, suspension, brakes, rebuilt spindle to spindle. Tranny got a new coat of paint too.
Underside all buttoned up, now a roller again.

Very nice work. Did you use some sort of a gravel guard paint on the undercarriage or is that powder coated? Looks tough.
Gordo. |

Its POR15 on the underside. I intend to drive it, so good protection from the elements. |

Last nose was half full of bondo.
Before the new skin went back on, some prep work.

This weekend I put some time on the rear kick panel with speaker openings.
Used teal fabric dye to dye a t-shirt, then put a mesh grill on top to match the color of the panel. I think it turned out ok.

A little more progress on the backend...looks like someone took an automatic gun to it. It was all bondo'd up.

This was awesome, we ordered a battery floor from WW and it had rows instead of the circle, so J man recreated it to match OE.
I'm off to polishing my inside aluminum parts (hooks, jail bars etc). I'll post when their done. |

I've received a few private messages asking about the build and if I can help them with their metal work. To clarify, I am not doing the metal work myself. The bus is @ my friends place The Rustbox who is doing the metal.
For those who don't know Jason @ The Rustbox, I swear he was born with metal in his hands...just awesome work.
Here is the nose stitched together:
