Here's some interior shots. To say the quality of work is excellent would be an understatement.
My son loves the bus.... A LOT.

Here's the table support. It reads:
U.S. Pat. No. 221816
TIIDEE PRODUCTS CO.
DAYTON, OHIO 45404
vertical cabinet
inside the cabinet
curtain rail and curtains

Did I say it comes with 4 extra wheels and tires?
bits I found in random bag. I know there's an original, unpainted gas cap but somehow I didn't grab that.
Did I say it comes with a binder of documentation?

forgot to add this... is this spring deal that spans the rear window for the curtains? Drives me mad when I look in the rear view mirror and it's vibrating just enough to be noticeable....

Yep. You could take it off or put curtains on it. Looking at your interior pics I'd say now that you did get a smokin deal on the bus assuming that it drives as well as it looks. Actually it seems to have been lost in time and only shows 10 years of age instead of 35. Did this guy have it shrink wrapped in a garage all this time? |

It does drive very nice. The clutch is a bit mushy and it's a little difficult to turn over when it's cold out but it has to have something to work on, right?

You got me... but fishing is quite popular here so that may be what the rack in the cabinet is for. |

| Check the ground strap from the transmission nose to the frame for condition. |

No problem. I paid $8,000.
edit: now I want to know if you think I got a decent deal lol
I think you paid a fair price on both ends. It's a very clean bus.
But the way the story started it sounded like it was going to be one of those steals I'd hate you for and it had all the right ingredients: grandpa's bus, his grandson who doesn't know how to put it in reverse selling it etc. So I didn't expect 8k because of that. |

I second this. While you're at it, pull apart and clean every single electrical connection in the FI. Smear every one with dielectric grease too. Don't forget the grounds under the intake plenum.
Super sweet bus by the way. I got mine for free but I would gladly have paid $8000 to have one in that condition. |

Well, back in May the son-in-law (that owns a lambo) had convinced the Grandpa that he could easily get $20-30k because he's seen these busses go for that on those car auction shows on tv (which were undoubtedly splits). So to get to come that far was quite a trip. I feel good about 8... I wouldn't have felt right if it was outright theft pricing. |

Wow, so the seller started at around $20-30K? Holy shit batman. That guy needed a reality check but it sounds like you convinced him and all turned out well. Good job. |

Well it wasn't so much me really. I only dealt with the grandson (who was totally cool the entire time). I made my final offer in Juneish and encouraged him to check out the classifieds on the samba for similar busses that aren't listed for 18 years and watch ebay. The also had a sudden death in the immediate family which encouraged them to simply move on. In the end, great experience and a good family. I think we are all happy. |
