Where is a good place to get my FI bus tested for lean/rich running conditions. I'm in GA. Can the local emissions shop do a thorough enough job to tell me what I need? |

Probably. Give him $10 and ask him to just hook it up to the machine and see what the readings are at idle and at 3000rpm. |

Probably best to it on a dyno if you want to really know what it's doing on the road. |

Check with your local VW club and see if someone has an exhaust gas analyzer you could use. You will get much more meaningful reading while out on the road. |

Agreed, weld in the bung (cheap from your FLAPS) and spend a week with an LM 1,2 whatever, real time driving is far better than any idle or dyno test. |

Colin (amskeptic) was in Pensacola Oct 11 and it was his last stop. You might PM him and see if he is still in that area. My guess is he is in hibernation but if he is in that area pay him to test it as he has done so many of them he can get it right. It is a real pain in the tail to get it right and much harder than anyone says. It isn't just the mixture - it is how fast the mixture changes too for acceleration and decel. |
