the PO of my ghia decided to remove any sign of a wire going from the front to the back of the car. where are these supposed to run? lights, power, oil light, ignition, everything is gone. I know where point a and point b are, just not sure what the best way between them is.

The main loom runs from front to back along the drivers sill (it tucks into a half inch or so gap between the bit where the kickplate goes and the heater channel on the inside of the car.
running from the back in the engine compartment you'll see in the corner above the inner arch on the drivers side on the firewall a hole where it goes through to the passenger compartment. Behind the rear side trim panels there's some bent tabs welded to the arches where it follows it's way down to the sill and there's a strange shaped round hole about an inch in size where it then goes onto the side of the sills.
At the front footwell it goes up beside the round heater tube vertically to a hole under the dash where it goes into the front of the car.
You can see the look on the left of this photo (it's been pulled away from it's normal place but you get the idea

carl, thanks for posting this! that explains why only the drivers side sill plate was removed. also, thanks for the picture of the RHD pedal assembly. I always wondered how that worked on a vw.

Happy to help, I have a picture somewhere of the wiring under the bonnet (hood) but mine was like all Ghias when I got it, a bit of a birds nest!
