Ok, I just picked up this gun because everyone seems to rave about it. Had to find out for myself. Got it for $120 + shipping on ebay. I have to say, for the money it sprays awesome. I laid out some reduced HS Primer, very nice and flat, great fan and atomization.
Same for some Glasurit 22 SS. Layed out better than my Sata 2000 and 3000! (But they are used guns and they are really 'fast'). The Sharpe fits my painting style alot better and I will be using it from now on.
Pros; Medium speed gun. Awesome looking fan even with my medium size compressor (my Satas seem to suck up more air). Easy to adjust. It looks like a toned down Iwata Supernova. 'Points' and holds really nice.
*** Cons; the cap suuucks. It's too small (it was a design flaw and I must've got the earlier ones). No problem for me as I use Duplicolor disposable cup system and the Sata adapter fits the Sharpe! This could be a biig drawback for some as the paint will NOT stay in the cup with the crappy cap. But I have read they fixed this problem. I got my gun from TCPGlobal so they must be blowing out their older 3000's.
I highly highly recommend this gun! My bodywork skills are ok, but I can lay out paint pretty nicely even for a 'newb'. This gun upped the finish level on my paint and for $120 it's an insane bargain. |

I've been using this gun to spray my PPG DP90LF epoxy and it does lay down pretty smooth. I don't use the cup that came with the gun since I have the PPG PPS system. I like it for what it is and will be spraying my base and clear with this gun too. Hopefully it turns out as nice as the epoxy that i'm laying down. |
