Pastel blue and turquoise bugs model 1961 have been fitted with colored interior parts from August 1960 until February 1961.

The steering wheel, indicator handle, steering column, gear shift and hand brake are all painted hydrate green. The passenger side grab handle is also hydrate green. The rubber mats are blue-green, with blue-green carpet surrounding it.

The sunvisors, grips, the seat frames and the headliner are ice blue.

The seats were covered in a turquoise fabric with ice blue skai on the back.

This is a close-up of the fabric:

Because the driver's seat is torn I have been looking for a manufactureer of the original fabric. I did find one, but the minimum order is 30 yards. This is enough for 6 cars (front and back seats).

Is there anybody out there who has a 1961 pastel blue (L391) or turquoise (Turkis L380) and who is interested in a group buy?
The price will be around € 80/meter.

Hi,
before the missunderstood is started. I am the guy who do the fabricjob. You can watch at the feedbackforum ( beetlekey / Marcus Raeke )
The minimum order is 50 METER, i will do that when we have 30 meters together. I will take 20 meters in stock, so you guys have a bigger chance to come to this rare colour.
The price is 80 Euro / Meter, sorry guys but the factory put the prices up.
This will be a one time only job.

I also have a L391 1961 ragtop bug.

If you make some fabric with the ice blue/turquoise/pastel pattern, I'm in for a few extra meters.
Let us know when you plan to run the production please :)

My car is in restoration and I've been looking for all the specifical parts during the last 10 years.

I found all the hydrate green plastic / rubber parts, NOS fabric for the seat covers, NOS ice blue vinyl too and the NOS door panels and NOS grab handle.

The green carpet was made with green german square weave that is a close match to the original one.
The original one is slightly different in color as it is more turquoise.

Here are some pics of the parts, fabric and carpet :

The green/turquoise color of the carpet is hard to see on this one. You can also hardly see the hydrate green rear kick panels.

Do you still need the green front rubber floor mat?

Thanks for the pics. I'll pass on the offer as it is too used for me.

Check this very nice original 1961 ragtop pastel blue for sale at BBT in Belgium. You can see the cloth and vinyl seat covers and all the hydrate green boots :

I don´t know, some ask before. Like 4 sets??
I calculate 4 meters a car, 5 are to much. Price will be 80 Euro.
It will go more than 6 month for sure.
I have a good sample here, so i can send it to the factory.
Just to be sure, we are talking about this:

kafer'61 Fri Aug 02, 2013 1:49 pm

Hi bettlekey,
Yes it is this tissue. Can you send me the sample (contact PM).
Es may be ordered only 4 meters of fabric.

laneven28 Mon Aug 05, 2013 8:38 am

Marcus, are you saying it will be 80 eur total for 4 meters, or 80 eur per meter?

Please count me in. Depending on cost I may be interested in material for 2 cars.

The price will be 80 Euro / meter = 4 x 80 = 320 Euro / car
4 meters will be enough for sure, i did a beryll car 2 month ago.

If there is someone with a good peace of the venyl i can look for it!
The fabric will be ready in spring 2014, the last order from me was running for 9 month :?
