| I'm pretty sure I know what this is, but I want to make sure. On my 1973 Super, there is a steel hose going from the front of the car to the back. It runs along the passenger side of the car. I'm pretty sure it is for the emmisions canister that used to be under the rear passenger side wheel well. Does anyone know if this is correct? I just want to make sure. Also it doesn't affect anything not having the canister does it? Thanks for you help. |

| I have a similar hose but mine was cloth covered rubber when I got the car. I presume you mean the one that runs along the outer edge of the pan. I believe it's for circulating fumes from the gas tank into the charcoal canister and from there into the engine. Mine is missing now and I plan to replace it because I keep smelling gas when the tank is full. |
