Saw this buggy the weekend at the George Old Car Show here in South Africa - what car is the hood ornament from? I know I have seen it before, but can't remember on which car?

I want to say Rolls Royce, but not sure. I remember seeing one like it but can't remember where.

That has got to be just a few years before hood ornaments went out of style....

Anybody remember back in the eighties when the JC Whitney catalog would have about two pages of hood ornaments in it?

Yes. I remember. And Thanks for undoing all of my therapist's work after years of his efforts at helping me to forget...

From the book by Angelo Van Bogart, (2010). "50s Flashback: A Decade of Automotive Excellence"

"on the 1953 Rambler... a new hood ornament, designed by George Petty was optional. The "racy" ornament "was a sexy woman leaning into the future, bust down and pointing the way."

This is the place I got mine. They don't have the style above or the one I have anymore it looks like. They have different ones now though.
