The Strombecker Thing is 1/32 scale. It shouldn't be difficult to modify one to fit a slot chassis.
They're not hard to find. |

Wow, what a cool track. Do you have any videos of your VW's running on it? Would love to see them.
I have several HO VW's that I race once in a while when my tracks are set up.

A Strombecker Thing is 1/28 scale. The mexican copy of this model (made by Impala or ALSI) is a bit smaller, more or less scale 1/29.
Another plastic model is the HSV vacu modelkit, scale 1/35.

Wow, I have great memories of those 1/32 slot car sets. My dad had a pretty cool setup in our basement in the mid 60's. I love your setup Mr. Domeck. |

I've got dozens of vintage slot cars. mostly 60s-70s stuff. Got hooked on the Dynamic cars...
Here's some random pics of my junk
NOS REHco Bug kit
Dynamic "Silver Hornet" car (oddball GE motor)
I'll get some current pics of my display cases one of these days... |

The reason I mentioned Strombecker is that although it's slightly larger, the length is somewhat abbreviated and it should fit a 1/32 chassis okay. But you're more a specialist on Thing toys than I am. |
