Spotted you on the highway near Grimsby Ontario, 2600 miles from home. Nice looking Westy. Safe travels.

Allow me to introduce Marigold - she is a minty fresh 1976 Westy. Marigold hails from high, dry, Riverside California. We are her proud new caretakers (her 3rd). We'll post up the whole story of how we met, and our adventures this weekend.

Briefly: In Feb we flew down to LA to check her out - and bought her on the spot. We already had a trip to California planned for March break - so we left her there for a few weeks - then flew down, picked her up, and drove from LA to San Francisco and back. Camped in her 2 nights along the way. Drove about 1100 miles. Dropped her off in LA - and had her shipped to Buffalo.

We had just cleared the US Vehicle Export Office, Canada Customs, and were driving her to Toronto (her new home) when you spotted us!

Here are a few pics from our trip.

Congratulations and welcome!

I hope you have read the fire sticky at the top of the bay forum page, it'd be a shame to see a beauty like that get fried

I think I saw you guys driving down Grand ave. on your way to Pismo. This is a small town and still apparent when strange busses come thru here. :D Nice ride.

Welcome to Canada. Great to have another California bus in Canada. Just got mine in December a 1977 Westy. Same colour. Hopefully see you cruising up in the Muskokas.

Very cool, looking forward to the extended story!

Did you find or lose your front emblem on the trip?

Beautiful bus! Change those fuel hoses if you haven't already!

Cool story. Neat that you were able to use it in CA before you shipped it back.

Yeah, I noticed the emblem magically appeared, or disappeared as the case may be, in Jalama Beach.
