today I showed his birthplace to my car in Wolfsburg Germany.
My 411 was delievered to sweden on Oktober/7/1968.
I brought it back to germany in November last year. No it runs the first time since 1968 with a permanent german registration. The matching historical license plate it got as a welcome gift from me. |

Hi Lars,
I only optimize what the former owner did. He prevent the car in a really good state. Now it is a pleasure to add missing parts or replace defective parts...
... or only change parts for NOS parts
I will photo-update you with the live of the car, for sure!
Douvrin504: there are sometimes early 411 on the market, I can keep my eyes open, if you truly "need" one!
The former owner told me, that he tried to sell the car for almost a year and I was the first who was interested to buy it.

Great shot, great car! Amazing that this gate building still appears mostly like it was in '60. Seeing the Hochhaus in the background looking east, the gate seems to be at the Oststrasse, with your car pointing directly toward the Mittelland canal.
I worked at the plant from '80 to '83, usually using either the tunnel under the canal from the Lessingstrasse, and then at the FE (R&D complex). Do you work at VW?
Was it easy for you to get the "411" on your Gifhorn license plate? |

Hi Rome, thanks for the nice words. I see, you know the area very well. :D Great to read you have worked in the area I live.
The tunnel from the Lessingstrasse still exist. The FE has now a seperate entrance from north (from Gifhorn).
I was very lucky to catch the "VW 411" for my license plate. I have more picture of my Wolfsburg city tour on my blog.
