I've only seen kits for fiberglass split kits. I don't recommend molding fiberglass onto metal though. Find a used factory piece on through ebay or Samba classifieds and weld them in.
I have a split window pop out kit made for later Beetles though. The ones that are hinged from the top. I may consider letting it go. |

My intentions are not as cruel as your thinking!
I have 70, that is going someday be an electric car. i have already hacked the back seat area up to make room for the batteries. I have compartmented this area off, & will be moving the seats back 7". I have always liked the look of a oval window, & so i figure heres my chance. |

They're pop outs like safari windows. Popular with surfers and the like. Not really meant to be split conversions. |

I'm not sure who makes that kit, but Glass Action makes a split window conversion which is also fiberglass, but is made to be molded to the body. You have cut out the vents too, because this kit also has the correct "split-oval" contour to the vents. Looks pretty good but if theres any significant temperature change, the fiberglass will seperate from the steel and make the the car look like shit. |

My project already has an oval clip, but am actually taking it out to replace it with louvers similar to the V30's deacklids. |
