Ah, but the certificate could be referring to the interior panels:)
Do you have your bus birth certificate? |

What about this bus? It has beige interior seats. Look at the contrast between the kick panels and the the seats. Those aren't black seats. It even has white(?) piping on the seats and door panels? With VW , almost anything was possible...
I don't have any idea where I got this photo? Looks like a factory photo to me? |

I think this bus was restored this way
3 things I'm not convenced on
1, black knobs on pop out latches
2, the front coat hook is in its down position
3, seat covers a little bit creased and seems very course
But i could be wrong
 |

Curious bus
Seats look overpadded?
Snowflake kick pattern looks VIBRANT
Cargo door panel material looks like headlining cloth texture, not vinyl?
Dont the hubcap logos normally appear vertical in official vw shots?
Pic appears here, 25 rows down or so
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/pressphotos/
Maybe a very early/virtually prototype dlx?
But I could be wrong

From what I have seen early bus seats were over padded. And creases and puckering is often seen in early bus VW official photos and promo shots.
The seats soon settle down after years of use : )
The seats in this bus look og to me.
Your right about the cargo doors it does look like wool cloth, But that could just be the grainy quality of the photo.
Interesting as I have not seen this colour combo on the interior panels before. |
